Privacy policy

What information is used, why it is needed and the choices you have while planning your Texas travels.

Who this policy covers

This policy describes information handled through TexansTravel.com, including its guides, trip planner, account features, AI guide and business applications. External sites linked from our guides have their own privacy practices.

Information we use

  • Accounts and preferences: sign-in information, email, profile details and the travel preferences you choose, such as home city, regions, interests, travel party and newsletter opt-in. These support sign-in, saved preferences and relevant recommendations.
  • Saved places and trips: favorites, itinerary days and stops. These stay in your browser during signed-out use and can be mirrored to your profile when signed in.
  • AI conversations: your messages, any content you choose to share and information used by the guide to answer your question. Signed-in conversations can be saved to your account; guest conversations are not saved as account chat history, but requests still pass through the AI service.
  • Business applications: contact details, business name, website, submitted materials, description drafts, review decisions, billing references and communications. Approved listing content is public; application and billing information is used to administer the service.
  • Service operation: technical and error information may be processed by the hosting and service providers to deliver and troubleshoot the site.

We use this information to provide requested features, send trip or account communications, personalize opted-in guides, review business applications and manage subscriptions. Do not include sensitive personal information in travel notes or AI messages.

Browser storage & cookies

The site uses browser storage for saved places, trips, your Traveler/Texas Resident selection and persistent sign-in. Interface preferences may also use functional cookies. Clearing site data can remove locally saved trips and sign you out; it does not delete information already saved to your account.

Our current application code does not include dedicated advertising analytics tags. Hosting, payment, authentication and other external services may process technical information under their own policies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives a network request from your browser. Browser privacy settings can restrict cookies and storage, but some features may stop working.

Services that process data

We use external services as needed to provide features:

  • Lovable Cloud and hosting services support accounts, stored profiles and application operation.
  • Google or Apple process sign-in when you choose their sign-in option.
  • AI services, including OpenAI through the AI gateway, process messages and relevant context needed to generate responses and business description drafts.
  • Open-Meteo receives place coordinates and dates for weather queries. This does not require continuous tracking of your device location.
  • Email services deliver requested trip and business communications; Brevo is the designated provider for the weekly newsletter when enabled and receives subscriber information needed for delivery and personalization.
  • Stripe processes business subscription payments and billing. The application keeps billing identifiers and status rather than raw card details.

Providers may process information outside your state or country. External maps, booking links and destination websites receive information when you open or interact with them, according to their own policies. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to address fraud, abuse or security concerns.

Your choices & requests

You can use the planner without an account, remove saved places and edit trip stops. In your profile, you can change travel preferences and turn off weekly newsletter opt-in. Turning off the newsletter does not stop necessary account, trip-request or billing messages.

For access, correction, deletion or other privacy requests, contact our customer service desk from the email associated with your account where possible. We may need to verify your identity before acting. Do not send your password or card information. Account deletion is not currently a self-service button; requests require review.

Rights depend on the laws that apply to you. We will review requests under applicable law; this policy does not claim a particular privacy certification or statutory exemption.

Retention & protection

Browser-saved data remains until you remove it or clear your browser’s site data. Account information, chat history and business records can remain stored while needed for the service. We have not set a universal automatic deletion schedule. Some records may need to be retained for billing, disputes, legal requirements or security even after a deletion request.

Read our security statement for the safeguards and limitations of the service. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Children’s privacy

Our family travel content is intended for adults planning activities with children, not for collecting children’s personal information. Do not submit a child’s full name, contact details or other identifying information. If you believe a child’s personal information has been submitted, contact us so we can review and address it.

Updates & contact

We may update this policy as features and providers change. The date above shows the latest revision. Questions about this policy or your information can be sent to our customer service desk.
